The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has always supported the in-town production of films from different parts of the world, to spread Hong Kong’s unique culture and appealing experiences to global audiences through. Among them, the HKTB is supporting the production of a new Asian romantic film Under Parallel Skies, starring Thai actor Win Metawin and the Filipino actress Janella Salvador.
In addition to supporting productions to be filmed in Hong Kong, to generate more positive word-of-mouth for the city’s tourism and attract more visitors to come and experience Hong Kong in person. Produced by 28 Squared Studios, co-produced with Two Infinity Entertainment, and directed by the award-decorated Filipino filmmaker Sigrid Bernardo, Under Parallel Skies sets in Hong Kong, a city where its East-meets-West heritage, nostalgic neighbourhoods, natural outlying islands and state-of-the-art attractions are celebrated and tells a tender-hearted romance between the main characters played by smash-hit 2gether: The Series Thai star Win Metawin and Filipino sweetheart songstress Janella Salvador. As one of the supporting organisations, the HKTB provided various assistance such as advice on filming locations and Hong Kong cultural references in the storyline.
Through this international film, the HKTB hopes that audiences around the world will be able to appreciate the unique culture and landscape of Hong Kong through the film. The HKTB will continue to promote Hong Kong through various means, including collaborating with renowned regional and international TV stations and media to produce a series of drama, variety shows and infotainment programmes. in addition to supporting productions to be filmed in Hong Kong, to generate more positive word-of-mouth for the city’s tourism and attract more visitors to come and experience Hong Kong in person.
