Supercell, the Finnish mobile game development company behind the Clash of Clans game, will have their mobile games withdrawn from Vietnamese app stores. Due to the regulatory issues, Supercell is not no longer able to operate in Vietnam, which means that Supercell\u2019s users will no longer be able to play its games.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to do business operation legally and transparently in Vietnam. So, first of all, we have to comply with the Vietnamese law. We truly hope this is not a goodbye for Vietnam and we will continue the dialogue with the local partners and the government. We sincerely apologize for the trouble and inconvenience this will cause to our players in Vietnam.\u201d said Timo Tervola, Head of Business Development at Supercell.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, they will discontinue their local presence in the Vietnamese app stores until these issues have been resolved.<\/p>\n

Supercell also notified its users, including players of the five games Clash of Clans, Hay Day, Clash Royale, Boom Beach and Brawl Stars, that they will not be able to install, reinstall or update the games anymore. The gamers won\u2019t be able to make purchases at once preceding the moment these games are removed from the Vietnamese app stores. This change impacts only Supercell apps in the Vietnamese app stores on iOS and Android systems. Supercell encourages its users to sign up to Supercell ID to avoid losing any game progress when the games could be launched again in Vietnam. Supercell ID must be signed up on a per game basis.<\/p>\n

As with most downloadable software products, items bought in Supercell\u2019s games are non-refundable. In rare cases, such as accidental purchases not yet used, and purchases by minors, exceptions can be applied. For purchases made on an iOS device, Supercell is not able to handle refunds directly. Please visit Apple support and contact iTunes store support. For purchases made on a Google (Android) device, users can contact Supercell directly through in-game support.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe see Vietnam as an interesting market with high growth rate in mobile games. Vietnam\u2019s mobile gaming segment currently comprises more than millions of gamers and shows no signs of slowing down. In order to officially come back to the country, Supercell will continue the dialogue with a local game distributor to comply the Vietnamese law to be able to bring our games back to Vietnamese players,\u201d added Tervola.<\/p>\n
