These mark the latest acknowledgement of the company\u2019s effort in almost three decades of contribution to sustainable healthcare development in Vietnam.<\/p>\n<p>While the company received the Great Service to Health Award, an award for Great Leadership was presented to Mr. Nitin Kapoor, Chairman and General Director of AstraZeneca Vietnam and Asia Area Frontier Markets; Vice President, International Vaccines &amp; Immune Therapies.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1467 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/news.eloqasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/AstraZeneca-300x201.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"501\" height=\"336\" srcset=\"https:\/\/news.eloqasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/AstraZeneca-300x201.png 300w, https:\/\/news.eloqasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/AstraZeneca-1024x686.png 1024w, https:\/\/news.eloqasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/AstraZeneca-768x515.png 768w, https:\/\/news.eloqasia.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/AstraZeneca.png 1334w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 501px) 100vw, 501px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Great Service to Health Award recognised AstraZeneca Vietnam\u2019s collective meaning contribution to uplift the local healthcare sector. While its innovative medicines are improving the lives of nearly 3 million Vietnamese patients struggling with non-communicable diseases (NCD) each year, the company\u2019s COVID-19 vaccine, developed in partnership with the University of Oxford, was the first to be approved and used in Vietnam during the pandemic and has helped to protect millions of Vietnamese people. In order to protect high-risk and immunocompromised individuals against COVID-19, the company is also delivering a long-acting antibody combination that has been available in Vietnam since March this year.<\/p>\n<p>Leading AstraZeneca\u2019s ambitious strategy in Vietnam since 2018 has been Nitin \u2014 a British business leader with nearly 30 years of extensive experience across the finance, healthcare, and pharmaceutical industries in several continents. Under his steer, AstraZeneca Vietnam has become a market leader and a champion for public-private partnerships with the Vietnamese Government and healthcare partners to reduce both the infectious and non-communicable diseases burden and promote sustainability. This recognition is for our leadership team, 500-plus employees in Vietnam and many other global colleagues who remain committed as ever to make health happen in Vietnam.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Vietnam, AstraZeneca has run several impactful programmes in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and healthcare partners to promote disease awareness, prevention and early detection. Amongst them are the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/vilaphoikhoe\/\">Healthy Lung Programme<\/a>\u00a0to improve the quality of outpatient management of asthma, COPD and lung cancer;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.younghealthprogrammeyhp.com\/\">Young Health Programme<\/a>\u00a0to prevent and reduce NCD risk behaviours amongst young people; and CaReMe programme to transform the cardiovascular-renal-metabolic care ecosystem. AstraZeneca is also cooperating with the World Economic Forum, London School of Economics, and Health Strategy and Policy Institute \u2013 Vietnam Ministry of Health, in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/phssr\">Partnership for Health System Sustainability and Resilience (PHSSR)<\/a>, to study and recommend health policies that would help to holistically reinforce the Vietnamese health system well in preparing for future risks.<\/p>\n<p>The latest awards add to the extensive list of recognition that AstraZeneca has received in its long history with Vietnam. In 2021, the Company received BritCham\u2019s Great Contribution to Healthcare and 25+ Years Milestone award for its meaningful journey in Vietnam.
